The Journey of Mr. Pugo & the Birth of Pugo's Studio

From Employee to Entrepreneur to Solopreneur: My Journey of Building Digital Businesses

mehdi khodamoradi - mr.Pugo

Hey there!

I’m Mr. Pugo, just a regular guy who's been dabbling in digital businesses like Dopely, Gillde, NotionGot, 2xPlanners, NicheJar, and more!

Let me tell you about my journey: I kicked off Pugo’s Studio to start picking subscription-based clients for my design services called Unlimited Design. But after a few months, I realized it wasn’t my thing. So, I switched things up.

I spent ten years working for others, mainly because I prioritized my family. During that time, I gained experience but not the financial stability I desired. So, I decided to take matters into my own hands.

I've always been passionate about design and product creation, dreaming of bringing my ideas to life. But family responsibilities kept me tied to my job.

About eight years ago, I faced a crucial decision: continue on the safe path with my family or pursue my dreams solo. It was a tough call, but I chose to prioritize my family's needs while keeping my dreams alive.

You see, in order to build a life, especially with your loved ones, you need financial stability. And at that time, I didn't have the resources to marry my love. So, I had two options: work on projects while maintaining a job or abandon my dreams and stick to what I knew.

I chose to balance both, aiming to build digital businesses and create online brands while working a day job to support my family.

I've launched several digital businesses before Pugo’s Studio, each with its own challenges and successes. Some came close to success but couldn't provide the stability I needed for my family.

After a few years, I decided to take a break from entrepreneurship to focus on my family's needs. But the entrepreneurial spirit never left me. I spent my evenings and weekends honing my skills and refining my ideas.

Then, after two years, I took the plunge and launched Dopely & Gillde.

I’ve built a team, trained interns to afford them (seniors were out of my budget!), and kept pushing forward with what I had.

But things took a turn. The team's skills and time management weren't up to snuff, and we found ourselves stuck in a rut, bleeding cash with no end in sight.

I talked to investors, but I didn’t want to risk my vision by partnering with folks who didn’t understand it. So, I decided to go it alone.

I’ve been doing my thing for a few years now, launching new businesses every few months. Some make me a lot of money and some are just around to grow them, while some are only experimental projects that I use no-code tools and, of course, the help of ChatGPT to bring them to life without talking to anyone. Isn't that awesome?

So, back to Pugo’s Studio.

I was able to bring in some cool projects and clients in the first few months, but I’ve stopped and pivoted Pugo’s Studio from a design studio to a hub where I share my creations.

It was time to decide what I should do next!

After days of research and brainstorming, I decided to share my notion systems that I had created and was using to manage my entire life and business.

That’s where the very first products came to life, the Super Life and Business Hub.

Quickly, they brought in lots of money, as it was something so many people needed for their life and business.

As time passed, I've decided to focus more on the business side and start a side business for Pugo’s Studio. This was the moment that I picked my niche.

All while doing things that didn’t know where they'd take me or what things would look like in a few months.

Now that I'm writing this story of mine and Pugo’s Studio, I’m thinking of starting another sub-business sharing all my business stuff there and making Pugo’s Studio more like a home for all my businesses and experiments instead of focusing it on one niche.

Having 10 specialized businesses under Pugo’s Studio.

Isn’t it cool?

Currently, these are all sub-businesses of Pugo’s Studio:

NicheJar to help people find the best niches for themselves and educate them around that.

NotionGot to help Notion users and productivity seekers further as I was doing in Pugo’s Studio and share more and more in this matter.

Gillde, Which is older than Pugo’s Studio and has a mission to help creative people find best resources and templates to boost their life and works.

2xPlanners to focus on planners, whether digital or printable and allows me to create lots of free and sometimes paid planners for those who need them.

promptXfinity which is a place for me to share my ai prompts that helped me do more in less time, helped me be more productive and of course more happy as I was achieving more by less time.

PosterBlast for my love for the design and art and to share my poster and wallpaper designs with everyone.

and counting…

My goal is to help people in all the way I can and while doing it make a few millions a year.

Then I can finally start more tech products without worrying about the fund I need.

I will be my own angel investor.

Isn’t this all of us dream?

and finally to work on my ideas for the Dopely and bring all of them to life.
